How to Write Upside Down Text on the iPhone with Symbolizer

My new iPhone App Symbolizer converts words and names into different symbols that you can post on Twitter, Facebook, instagram, email, iMessage, whatsapp, etc.

You can also use it to customize your contacts list with upside down names, cool symbols and circled letters.

symbolizer iphone app

* Symbolizer lets you convert ᏔøЯ∂Ƨ ✞ø ƧУℳᏰøℓƧ

* Write sǝƃɐssǝɯ ʇxǝʇ uʍop ǝpısdn

* Type ⓨⓞⓤⓡ ⓝⓐⓜⓔ ⓘⓝ ⓒⓘⓡⓒⓛⓔⓢ

Writing upside down (uʍop ǝpısdn) is one of my favorite features. Simply enter any text into the app, click “symbolize” and click the flipped “abc” button.

The text will be automatically copied to your clipboard, ready to be pasted into your favorite app. Just click and hold a text field for a second and click “paste”.

Get it now and start symbolizing!

New “Emoji-less” App coming soon to the Emojizer family

Our new app is ready to be submitted to the App Store. It is part of the Emojizer family but it doesn’t use emojis. How is that possible? You’ll see 😉

Here is a little teaser of what’s coming….

our new emoji less app

new emoji-less appAs you can see it reads Prepare for Upload, and that’s what we are doing right now. We will submit the app as soon as we can and we’ll let you know on http://facebook.com/emojizer and http://twitter.com/emojizer.

Once it’s been submitted, it should take around 14 days to go live on the App Store.

We’ll keep you posted!

New hidden emojis in iOS 5.1 from OS X Lion

emoji os x lion

If you have updated your Mac to Lion, you’ve probably already seen the new emojis that come built in. They are pretty cool! Here are just a few of the new animal emojis 🙂

How to enable emoji in Mac OS X Lion

Here’s how to add Emojis to emails, the messages app (for iMessage), text documents created with apps like TextEdit, etc.

To insert an Emoji, you’ll need to use the hidden Characters tool.

Open a Finder window and hit Shift+Command+G. In the dialog box that appears, type /System/Library/Input Methods.

Then look for the file called CharacterPalette. This is the tool we’ll regularly use to insert Emoji, so click and drag it to the Dock to create a shortcut for future use.

Start the CharacterPalette app and, in the left of the program window, select Emoji. Then select a category of Emoji icon from the column next to this—People, Nature, Objects, Places, or Symbols. Finally, select the icon you want from the list of icons and then click and drag it to where you want to insert it into your email, document, and so forth.

Remember that any Emoji you insert into emails and documents will appear when opened by other OS X Lion computers and on iPads and iPhones, but they won’t appear on Windows or Linux systems or on Macs running pre-Lion releases of OS X. Instead, users will see a missing character symbol instead (usually a question mark symbol within a box).

How to Use the Hidden Emojis in iOS 5.1

The new emoji characters in Lion are still not visible in the emoji keyboard that comes with iOS 5.1 but if you send them from your Mac you’ll be able to see them.

This is not the case for users running iOS 5 (or less), so if you want to be able to see the new emojis you should update your iPhone to the newest version using iTunes.

New Hidden Emojis in Emojizer?

We found an easy way to include the new secret emojis in Emojizer, but since there are a lot of people that still run older versions of iOS, it makes no sense to implement them yet as it would only cause trouble for them, and negative reviews in the App Store. Which we don’t like.

We are constantly working on updates to make the app better so you can expect these new emojis to be implemented in the near future.

Talking about updates, Emojizer 2.0 should be on its way so get ready to update and leave a new review on the App Store for the 2.0 release.

Emojizer’s Favorite iPhone Apps (Part 1)

Here are some of our favorite iPhone apps to use with “Emojizer, Words to Emoji“.

whatsapp emojizer

Whatsapp is probably the most popular IM app out there. Pretty similar to iMessage but supports other devices (android, blackberry, symbian…) so it makes it universal.

You can get Whatsapp to start texting your friends for free by following this link: Whatsapp on the App Store

tweetbot emojizer
Our favorite twitter client for the iPhone and iPad. Send your emojized tweets and include the hashtag #emojizer and we’ll check them out.

If you are using any other twitter app, delete it from your phone and Get Tweetbot!

instagram emojizer

Our favorite photography app hands down. It’s not only the cool filters and the ease of use but the whole community behind it that makes it the best social photo app in the store.

If you already have instagram and want to get more followers and likes, you can use emojizer to leave cool looking comments on popular instagram photos.

Don’t use Instagram yet? Download it here and start tagging your photos with the hashtag #emojizer

Emojizer Hits 30 Thousand Downloads on the App Store

And what’s interesting is that about half of those downloads come from Italy, where it’s been ranking in the top 10 “social networking” app category for almost all its existence.

It’s also ranking pretty high in other countries like Spain and, surprisingly, Saudi Arabia.

A New Emojizer Update Is Coming

A new update (1.02) was submited to the App Store last week and it’s expected to come in a few days. We made a few changes in the UI layout and changed a few things around to make the app more user friendly.

Last update took a week to get approved so this one should arrive in a couple of days. I can’t wait!

Have You Reviewed Emojizer Already?

Reviews of the app in the different countries are looking very good but I’m probably still waiting for you to write yours, hehe.

It’s funny that most of the reviews are written using emojizer.

I admit I haven’t rated many of the apps I’ve bought or downloaded just because I’m lazy and I think the big boys don’t really need my little review, but now I see how powerful they are and how much can they actually help an app get discovered .

So, if you like emojizer all I ask is to go to itunes and leave me a short line with your thoughts, it should take you less than a minute and it would really help a lot.
